If you live in Bethlehem Township, you may have heard of this park, located just off of Rt 191 on Christian Springs road. A 10,000sf mansion (home of Archibald Johnson first mayor of Bethlehem and President of Bethlehem Steel Corp.) and 88 acres were deeded to the township to be used as a passive recreation area. Although the township has made the area accessible as a park, there are serious threats to the future of the mansion (even though $2million was left to maintain it), and surrounding lands that may be sold for the development of 420 apartments. This property lies right at the recharge point for the Monocacy creek, where roughly 70 springs/seeps can be found. If you live in Bethlehem Township this is a matter that should concern you. You can read more at the Monocacy TU blog, www.monocacytu.org

land whoreing continues, people never learn in the Lehigh Valley, let alone in this beautiful state of pennsylvania.

its a neat old place, i used to walk back through the County section of land when you weren't supposed to and get yelled at by the guy who raises teh deer on the other side.

make no sense? do not care.

its a neat place. it'll be a shame when its paved. that house is on borrowed time. they made it clear at the township meeting they're gonna raze it and put a soccer field in.
