Home made streamer did some magic

I was out last Friday at Neshiminy off of York road using several topwater poppers - decided to try one of my streamers Red and Yellow deer hair with a brass band in red on the hook shaft and one greenish dark brown plastic bead. Well wouldn't you know it the red deer hair came off as I was tying it on my line. I still went with it and ended up with 4 SMB's which the biggest one was close to 14" long. I just love watching them jump out of the water trying to shake the hook.

Nice! Those smallies are a lot of fun. I have a Mickey Finn version of the Clouser Minnow on my rainy day list of flies to tie. I never got a chance to crank any out yet but from the sounds of your success with your streamer they would probably work.
