Headed to Coastal Maine in two weeks

We are headed up to coastal Maine, near Portland, in a couple of weeks.

Does anyone have any insight on how the striper fishing is, am I too late?

Any suggestions on freshwater fishing in the area?

Probably not too late, but mid October is about the end of the striper season in ME. I'd bring my salt gear and give it a go as there may be fish around and surf fishing is always hit or miss regardless of season.

I had a great time fishing smallmouth bass on the Androscoggin this summer and I'd guess that that game would likely be more predictable than the ocean.

The Presumpscot R has salmon and brookies and is fairly close to Portland. This time of the year there are big brookies available, and I don't mean what PA Anglers think is a big brookie, it 12 to 20 inches up there.
