Ok so I fell on one of my 3 wt rods. There is a decent amount of cosmetic damage which I'd like not to see, though I can certainly live with it. The issue is that one of the snake guides though not misshapen has a pretty good scrape on it. The thing feels quite rough when you run your hand over it. Any good ideas on how to remove the roughness and get it down to the point where its not going to sandpaper my fly line?

If it's on the inside, where the line runs, replace it.
Take it to a shop ($5 -- $15).

Or try it your self ($2).

Be careful with this one. What you are calling cosmetic damage could end up causing rod failure down the road. If you are talking ONLY scratches on the finish coat of the rod you'll likely be okay. If in any way there was disruption of the fibers of the rod it won't end up good. If the blank was crushed slighly you may not see it or feel it even but the rod will begin to fail there.

If everything is okay and it is just the guide that needs replacing, follow MKern's advise above.
