Does anyone have any recommendations for a good set of waders and wading boots that are at a relatively low cost?

In the 3rd post of the linked thread, I wrote that I had just ordered Cabelas' waist high breathables. That was in the spring of 2012 and they are still holding up. No leaks.

Cabela's Men's Premium Breathable

They cost $129. Frogg Toggs go for about $89.

I had the exact opposite luck with a pair of Cabelas waders, They fell apart in a few months.

I do have a pair of Cabelas wading boots that I love though.

Their gear seems to be hit and miss, but their warranty makes up for it if you do have an issue.

In my experience cheap and good are mutually exclusive. You get what you pay for.

+1 on Sierra Trading Post. Name brands at discount prices. It is one of the few online places that I shop. If you sign up for an account, you can get deeper discounts. Also, I find that if you leave your items in the shopping cart they will email coupons for free or 99 cent shipping.

All good choices for that perfect blend of quality and 'cheap'

I have gotten good use from frog toggs waist high breathable.

these definitely hold up better than the very cheapest waders (ahem, caddis)

redington cross water waders are a great value. for boots I wouldn't cheap out.

Cheap boots I've liked: cabela's ultralight and Redington (can't remmebrr exact model)

Cheap waders I've liked: Cabela's 3mm neoprene, and L.L. Bean Flyweights..
