A friend of mine at work ask me to tie him a few. Simple fly pattern, has anyone fished them? If so how did they work out? Worth tying a few for my box. Joe E

Definitely worth having a half dozen or so in your kit - Crappies LOVE them! So do Landlocked Salmon - and Trout - and Smallmouth 😎

Meh, just like any other fly, sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. I personally haven't caught that many on the retriever, but having a couple in the fly box can't hurt.

The pups say it all -

I got a few from a fly swap and found them to work better than my typical streamer patterns and wooly buggers in the spring. Since then I always have a few in my box. They work great on smallmouth waters and I've hooked some nice trout on them as well.
