“Secret” is to install midge sized bead, wrap the hook shank with WHITE Semperfli Nanosilk (or similar) in the general shape, tie in whatever color small diameter wire and wrap it around the Nanosilk body up to the bead. Apply a light coat of thin UV resin and allow it to sink into the Nanosilk - cure the first coat with the UV light, then apply a top coat of resin to cover the wire - the soaked in resin will cure in the white Nanosilk to be almost clear - the wire will appear to be floating inside as seen in the picture - practice makes perfect. Keep them small as it takes a flair amount of the thread to build up the body. Post your pics!okay so what is the secret?
Yup - no secretLet’s see, hmmmmmmmm, a bead, some UV resin, some wire and some more resin.
No - I’m completely social media free (except for this site)Do you have a link to this particular fly ?
You’re correct except for the white Nanosilk thread coreLet’s see, hmmmmmmmm, a bead, some UV resin, some wire and some more resin.

I sometimes have trouble keeping the wire spaces when wrapping on just resin - the NS body eliminates the fumble fingers effect for me - and you can color it with a sharpie for translucent colorsIf you leave out the white nano silk thread the UV resin will be completely clear and the wire will appear to float as well.
🤣Ah, fumble fingers, now there’s something I’m very familiar with. same with the squatch
