both casting and trolling

remind me of the flies we used for kokanee in ID. These are prettier. Where will you be chasing "landlocks"

finger lakes

12xl hooks seem ridiculously long and I would think would have a negative impact on actually keeping a fish hooked. The gap looks very small and the leverage that could be exerted on that long of a hook, its gotta cause a lot of lost fish.
What am I missing? Why would you not use a stinger hook and shank?

if they were fighting on the bottom maybe, but LL's fight on the surface. these flex too. sizes are 4,5,6, 2, and 1/0 that I use

Never used 12xl hooks but I tie most of the streamers I use on 6xl hooks. I have never had a problem with losing fish. I wouldnt hesitate to use those flies. I prefer a longer hoom vs stinger hook and shank.
