Gerbubblebug - Marabou

Found ths bass fly referenced in a few books, one authored by Lefty Kreh. I found tying instructions recently and thought I'd give it a try.

Has anyone fished this before? What I've read says to fish it very slow. I tried it a Pinchot Park this morning, but no luck. Any advice?

I've tried them and not done much with them. But then, the stream where I fished them never did well for poppers... at least not when I fished them.
