Furled leaders?

Dumb question from a newbie. Whats a furled leader? Some guys mentioned thowing lures with a heavy weight rod, and mentioned a furled leader. If you got a minute.

I am a fan of furled leaders, and while I haven't made my own, plan to do so shortly.

I just saw a demonstration of making furled leaders and it was very interesting and not to difficult. Building the jig looked to be the hard (time consuming) part. I was able to get a leader for a $5 donation. Can't wait to try it out.

The jig is not necessary.

That's the method i use. After making 3 of them, now IMO there perfect.

Thanks jayL... I may try that! The set up I saw used one continuous strand of mono or thread!
