Orvis is offering free fly fishing classes for beginners.
It's a great class to learn the basics and get someone started in the sport. All equipment is provided and the class teaches rigging, fly selection, knots as well as an hour of casting instruction.
Classes run on Saturdays through the end of June at the Orvis stores in Downingtown, Pittsburgh, Plymouth Meeting in PA and right across the border in Marlton and Princeton in NJ. Also some independently owned Orvis fly shops run free beginner classes.
