Fly Tying Photos

My phone never seems to want to focus on my fly in the vice and I wondered if anyone had any tips?
I tend to tie smaller (14-20) and even the best photos seem slightly off. I have more luck putting it flat on the table over a piece of paper but that makes it harder for friends to give feedback on my work.

Put a piece of light colored, but not white, construction paper behind your vise so that blocks everything out of the background when you zoom in on your fly.

I've found that taking a photo with my iPhone zoomed out, but focused, and then cropping the photo to the fly has given me the best results. Also, as others mentioned, have something in the background directly behind it.
