The fifth annual Fly Tyers Reunion will be hosted by Seven Springs Mountain Resort located at 777 Waterwheel Drive, Seven Springs, PA 15622 in Somerset County. The event will be held at the Resort’s Sporting Clays Lodge on Thursday April 9, 2015 from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM and will feature nationally recognized fly tyers and fly rod anglers, many of whom are also magazine and book authors, who will demonstrate their tying methods and skill in tying trout, bass and saltwater flies.
The event will also mark the 25th Anniversary of the Fly Fishing Show that promoter and owner Chuck Furmisky, of Rockwood, began at Seven Springs that has now grown into the world’s largest fly fishing consumer shows across the country drawing tens of thousands of visitors each year.
Some of the well known fly tyers scheduled to appear are Joe Humphreys, Bob Clouser and Bobby Clouser, Tom Baltz, Eric Stroup, Scott Loughner, Dave Brandt, Bob Meade, Ted and Bob Patlen, Matt Grobert, John Shaner, Greg Heffner, Randy Buchanan, Chuck Furimsky , Dave Albaugh, Andy and Jocleyne Fresch, Justin Sparklin and others.
In addition, Pennsylvania Fish and Boat District 4 Commissioner and outdoor writer Len Lichvar, of Boswell, will be on hand to informally discuss angling, and Commission related topics and issues.
The event is free and open to the public and attendees will have the opportunity to discuss fly tying and fly fishing with all of the special guest tyers. Food and beverages will also be available for purchase at the Lodge.
