I was wonding if anyone has or knows of a good travel/hiking case for a shorter fly rods. I just purchased a new 6'10" Sage TXL-F and Click III reel. I will be using it mostly on smaller streams that I have to hike into and would like to get a case that fits the reel still attached to the rod in it. Just looking for ideas.

Thanks,

Hi Matt - These guys will build you a case exactly how you want it. Their old website had a "you design it" setup, with every option you could imagine. If you call them, you'll find them to be very friendly, and they'll quote you a price for what you want - but it won't be cheap. You'll probably wind up paying about the same as a case from Sage, but it'll be a lot nicer. Color choices, cap style, strap style, embroidery, custom lengths, internal divider options...

They built me a case for a 10' 5pc rod (gfen now owns it), and it was really sweet. It cost me around $50 + shipping.
