Hi. My fly pattern photography is still in the "beginning amateur" stage, so what I do is illustrate my patterns posed in the vice using colored pencil. Here attached is a recent example --

Wow that is nice picture! Are you a professional by any chance or at least have any of your drawings published in any magazines?

Ship,

Read his post in the reader's corner. It has a link to his site with his books and sketches.

Sorry ron, you can answer if you want. Just figured I'd help out. :)

JayL,
Where did my name come from?

Mkern,

No idea. I'm exhausted. Time for a walk and some fresh air. I think I'm losing my mind.

It's all those late night posts on this site. You should be getting a full 8 hours of sleep -- your a growning boy.

I only need to get more sleep when the alarm starts going off in the morning.

Hi. Thanks for the thumbs up . . .

Most (if not) all fishing mags focus on fly pattern photos. I hope to one day put out a book of fly patterns with tying directions all illustrated with these kind of drawings. One book out there already is Jack Pangburn's great Deer-Hair Fly-Tying Guidebook:

He is a real artist: both as an illustrater and as a fly tier!
