Dave McPhail uses "flex floss" in tying his brite buzzer. I found the material on line at a store in Chicago. Anyone know if Bass Pro carries such stuff? Anyone know of good "conventional" material I can substitute?

Thanks in advance.

You can substitute Uni Stretch. It has a little sheen, but not quite as glossy as any floss, but you are going to coat the body with a lacquer or uv resin/epoxy.

+1
My thought too. :)

Thanks. I routed through my material drawers and found some of the floss I am asking about. Too much stuff and not a good memory of all stuff I have. Anyway, I will use what I have and look for some other materials to get an affect that I think will be as or more effective.

Unistretch is a very different material, but I agree the coating will make any substitute work on this pattern. Spanflex is the closest thing to Flexi floss, and you can get it at TCO.

Flytyers dungeon sells something called bug body that seems to be the same material.
