Took my son down to meadow Saturday morning before it got too hot. He was pretty excited to catch this chunky 15 inch rainbow. I know it was 15 inches because I used my new "Measure Net" replacement rubber mesh bag. He was just beginiing to master the roll cast when he caught this fish.

Ahh, very nice fish. And very nice net.

Excellent.

Good stuff, glad you two had a great time on the water!

Glad to see Meadow treated you guys well!! What were the conditions like?

Nice interruption to the casting lesson.

Meadow was 62 degrees Saturday morning. The fish are not spread out too well. There are a bunch near the bridges at the top and bottom of the DHALO section. I didn't hike into the middle, so I dont know if they dumped a load there as well.

That had to be a wonderful experience. I bet you were doing some pattin' on the back. Was it his first on a fly?

Squaretail,

Not his first, but his biggest. I think maybe 12 inches was his biggest trout previously on a fly. This was the first fish he couldn't just horse in. I think he enjoyed the fight.

I hope to get him a steelhead this year.
