I have never fished the First fork and was considering it next weekend. It is either that or Penns. How is the First Fork fishing now and any recommendations on. Sections to fish since I have never been?

It’s gonna be bony low. Penns is low too, but not that bad. FF, unless you’re talking wayyyy upstream where it’s probably little more than a trickle right now, is mostly stocked fish, and many (nearly all) don’t make it through Summer.

Between the two right now, I’d go with Penns. More water and more fish, even if there aren’t a ton of bugs this time of year. Easy decision IMO.

In the Spring FF is an awesome stocked stream. Up there with Kettle/Pine/etc. I’d make a trip up there next May. It’ll give you a much better impression for your first time up. I really like FF. Just not super low in November, if that makes sense.

You are likely correct that it is extremely low and would be best to fish elsewhere until it gets some water.

The DHALO did get stocked on 10/1 though so there should be fish.

OP - Then if you do FF, I’d go with the DHALO section. 😉

Thanks Dude, I had forgotten it had a DHALO with a Fall stocking. Though my advice remains the same. In the current conditions of both, Penns, and it’s not close.
