Looks nice hammerhead.

Can't really tell what method you used there. But it looks like it might be similar to a way that I use to make extended bodies:
tie in a length of heavy mono to the hook shank - leaving a tail hang out over the hook bend. Then tie in some tail materiel that sticks out even further along the mono. Then dub a tapered body out to the end of the mono and back. You can even rib it if you'd like
Makes a nice looking and flexible extended body.

I have a nor vise, my wife bought me one for Christmas.
Those things are great.. Talk about a cool vise. I seen the same article in Fly tier.

I do not have a norvise which gave me alot of headaches when trying to wrap the needle with the dubbing! But I think the final result turned out pretty decent.

Dry fly- I clamped a sewing needle in my vise. Wax the end of the needle. wrapped the end in dubbing. added a tail. wrapped more dubbing. head cement and slide off needle before it dries. bend shape of tail and allow to dry. then tie in to body of fly.

check my fly tiers page on my website, I have a pdf on how to make extended bodies..
