Almost 2 weeks ago I hiked back in to meet two friends who were floating down from spruce creek area. I met them at camp at about 6:00 pm and we fished from about 6:30 To dark. On my first cast I lost a beautiful fish that busted my 5x tippet to steal my dropper fly in my double nymph rig. This turned out to my favorite trout outing of the year. The fishing was nothing short of spectacular. The evening sulphur hatch was thick. I probably caught 25 trout that evening before retiring to camp with some wine. The next morning I fished from about 6:30-9:00 am and landed about 15 more. Plenty of fish in the 15" range and what a blast. All fish ate a PT nymph or a soft hackle PT.
Once back home I found time to catch some brookies and hit the smallmouths as well. Great weekend of fishing.
