Does anyone have the steps for tying a salmon egg pattern? I know it's supposed to be simple but I have never done it. I am referring to using yarn but how does one hid the thread?

Thanks in advance.

Or do what I do and spend 59cents at the craft store...skewer the pom-pom with the. Sometimes I even put a drop of superglue to hold it fast. Most times I don't bother. I don't fish them very often.

This is the deal:

I never thought of the pom-pom thing. I might have to try that!

I use McFly Foam for my eggs. there are various materials that you can use for them.

I use bead-chain instead of dumbell eyes. Bloody simple and effective for me.

I tied a bunch of these for steelies on Ontario tribs. Used them one day in high water conditions and hooked a big male that made me look silly. Went straight downstream and shook it free like it was a joke to him. Landed a nice little brown and a nice little steelie though later that day out of the chocolate milk I was fishing in.

I don't know if this will come up as a link. Cut and paste if not.

Easy to tie and they look like organic tissue when wet.

Here's the fish I caught. I've never posted a pic and I wanted to try. If it works, you can see the egg pattern in the net with the fish.

I'll try again.

File's too large........??????????........I guess I need to catch smaller fish.

Computers frustrate me.
