The thread on Green Drake Hackle Color got me thinking. Would anyone care to share patterns and/or photos of their favorite Green/Brown/Yellow/Slate Drake patterns? I'd like to see dries, wets, spinners, nymphs, whatever. I hope to post some of mine soon.

Thats a cool pic right there.

Mario, is that natural grizzly or dyed?

Thanks tyger.

GenCon, the wings are grizzly dyed Olive. The Hackle is natural grizzly and ginger mixed.

Mario, thanks. That is what I figured the hackle was. Hard to tell the wing color. But I asumed you had dyed them. Beyond that it is a very well tied fly.

All great looking ties. It'll be a couple of days before I am back at the vise and these are fueling the desire.

Great flies guys, thanks for posting. Two of mine below. Unfortunately these are tied on heavy nymph hooks. Finally got some Daichi 1770's that are lighter.

Great lookin flies, really like your Nickr

Unsure if anyone has seen the newest Fly Fisherman magazine, but there is a great article by Rene Harrop on Drakes. He does talk about those in the West, but most of his methods are applicable to our waters, too.
