Double Bunny (with a lip!)

I tied a bunch of these this week. The double bunny is such a good fly...

That's a nice looking fly, what's the lip made of when I clicked to enlarge the pic all I could see was tail.

The lip is made by coating a monofilament loop with clear cure goo and then hitting it with a UV lamp to make it solidify. I posted a video the other week in this forum (see 'the bearded lady'). This one was created the same way.

Nice! Does it ride hook up?

This one rides hook down because I tie the barbell eyes underneath the hook shank. You could obviously flip it to ride hook-up if you tied the eyes on top of the hook shank.

this is prabobly a dumb question but, the two rabbit stips are connected to each other by the leather in some way correct?

You can buy fleximent (sp?) which is a flexible head cement to connect them. There's a few other brand names out there.

As for those lips, you can buy them pre-fab from some company. I think they are called fishlipps or something. I have a pack of them and never did much with them. I'll have to the try the mono and epoxy method. sounds like a good idea.
