I apologize if this is already out but:

PSA: Deer Tick Virus has been recorded at the highest level in the country in central Pa. 92% of the ticks sampled in one Clearfield county area in January 2022 were carrying DTV. Over 80% positive at Fisherman's Paradise in Centre county. It can be transferred to humans within 15 minutes of a tick bite versus 24 hours for Lyme disease. Treat clothes with Permethrin and treat skin with Picaridin.

Symptoms and treatment:

It has been mentioned before:

But another reminder is always a good thing!!

FWIW - I took coyoterahn's recommendation (THANKS!) and sent off a bunch of stuff to be treated by Insect Shield in their "Treat Your Clothes" option.

The process couldn't have been easier, the turnaround was quick and they even sewed a little label in each garment to remind me it was treated.

Whether you believe the "70 washings" claim or not, I do know that regardless, I won't be treating my stuff through Insect Shield annually like I did when I was doing it myself. I also store my treated stuff in large Ziploc bags which helps maintain the effectiveness of the treatment.
