Cookie retention

I'd really like to see a logon cookie retention time available. Right now it seems like we're using session cookies that are eaten when the browser exits.

Just a suggestion.

Maybe a 5 day retention option available so that we don't have to log into the page every time. Leave default on session cookies?

Sounds like you know about this cookie stuff more than me, but I believe that there is an issue with people remaining logged into the site, so it is set up to boot you off the login status every so often-- seems like it may be as few as a couple hours if no activity. Perhaps Dave will explain further, but this may help your understanding in the meantime.

I'll look into it and what impact would be for the site. I understand the interest, but need to see how it will impact performance and other things within the site.
