Saw this on another board. Maybe it’s old news but first I saw it lol. Quite an impressive fish!!




 
Now or later it’s all good, as long as it’s true!! Lol
 
Looks more like a splake than a brook trout to me.
 
Don't ya just love how they hold the fish away from themselves to make it look bigger? It's big, but ugly.
 
That fish definitely never saw a meal that it didn't like.
 
I've done a couple DIY muzzle loader elk hunts near Lake City. Last time we talked to a couple at the trailhead who apparently had driven up from Texas to fly fish beaver dams on Cebolla Creek. Certainly made me wonder if there was something special about that area. Here I am crossing the creek with my maple wading staff : )

Wait a minute, I thought Splake was the guy who lived across the hall from Ross in the TV show Friends.
 
As brook trout become ultra selective with age I assume he was caught on an unpublished secretive chironomid pattern
