Clarion River Below Piney Dam to Mouth

Has anyone spent any time fishing the Clarion River below Piney Dam down to the mouth at the confluence with the Allegheny?? Not looking for Trout necessarily but smallmouth fishing in the early fall instead. If anyone can share what they think of this stretch and what their experiences have been I would love to hear.

You might want to look into what extent the lower river below Piney is still impacted by AMD. Last I heard, it was improving, but still quite a ways behind the upper river in terms of how much improvement there has been.

Sadly I have read the same. Though the last research I can find is dated 2006 which is 9 years old with remediation plans in place ever since. Could be a smallmouth goldmine with fish coming up from the Allegheny. Hard to say without going and checking it out. Which I just might have to do :-D
