Was able to spend a few October days this past week in and around Centre County. Work has been crazy, and this was a much-needed break with my dad and a good friend. We fished streams around the State College area together, but we spread out and enjoyed our own solitude. I was pleasantly surprised at how fast the action was given how low and clear the streams were. Noticed no spawning activitiy yet for brooks or browns, but I'm sure it is right around the corner. Warm days, cool nights, and stories around the fire. Another fall in PA.

P.S. - sorry if some of the pictures are upside down. They show up ok on my phone, but get jacked up sometimes when I upload.

Some very nice photos depicting fall in PA plus some really beautiful fish that compete with the fall colors along the streams.

Looks like a great trip.

Thanks for sharing.

Yep, great stuff there. A lot of very nice fish. Good to see so many making it through a tough Summer. Looks like decent rain on the way this week.

Nice, Thanks for the encouraging photo's

Great looking photos & fish!

Looks like an awesome trip.

Wonderful photos as usual!

Great report and nice looking fish.

Questions if you want to answer:

1) Any dry fly action on Penns? Mornings/Afternoon/Evenings?

2) If you fished dries, how was the leaf hatch? Is it over or in full swing?

Same request as Millertime! Heading up this weekend. I know it's low and we were not even thinking about much fishing but some rain is on the way.

Millerstime,
BWOs mid-day, but not a whole lot of action on top. Did find one glide with some steady risers where I got a couple on a size 18 parachute Adams. Other than that, some sporadic risers. Only had a few takes on the dry when fishing a dry-dropper.

The leaves weren't too bad, although there wasn't a whole lot of wind either. Oaks and hickories still had some leaves to drop, so they could get heavy if there is a breeze.

Some more water would have been nice, so hopefully we get a nice shot before you head out.

Good luck!

Very fine work in my backyard, Klingy :)

Great post and wonderful photos! I might just be able to sneak to Penn's just one more time.
