A great dry caddis pattern to tie and fish.

Easy tie using two materials.

The hardest part for most is tying in the hair-wing securely so it doesn't spin around the hook shank.

The video shows how to tie the fly but also demonstrates two different methods of tying in hair-wing that work really well.

Interesting. I never heard of spinning the bobbin counter-clockwise to get it flat. This should help my tying tremendously. Does anyone know why he tightens the thread by pulling the bobbin upward? Also, interesting that he used 10/0 thread. Is that what most of you use for a 14. It did sound like it was strong for its diameter.

He pulls up on the thread, to prevent the hair from spinning on the hook. He does this while pinching down at the previous wrap of thread.
Very important, if you don’t want to get frustrated very quickly.
Stronger thread is recommended with deer hair etc.
