I recently found out the hard way that you are not supposed to twist rod sections on or off. I broke off one side of two of my snake guides and was wondering if they can be fixed. I can't find my receipt but really like this rod. I guess because I was twisting them together I was having to grip the guides to get them apart because I was tightening them too much by twisting them. The rod is still fuctional however and I am just disapointed with myself at this point.

They can be replaced.

Most fly shops do at least minor rod repair.

This doesn't help with your broken guides but it will help in the future. If the rod doesn't want to come apart, try dipping it in the water for awhile. The coolness of the water compared to the air temperture will cause it to shrink and come apart easier.
