I slipped on some rocks and broke the tip section of my 9' 6-wt. rod yesterday morning. I had an extra metal tip at home, so I cut another couple inches off the rod and superglued another tip on. It'll probably do for nymph fishing, but we'll have to see. (I do have a couple other rods, both 8'6" that I can use. They're now 2 inches longer than my former 9' rod.)
That makes at least 6 broken rods in the past 5 years.
