I was told this is a forum of anglers. Well I am an angler who was born and raised in PA and film PA blue line fishing. So I thought a PA fly fishing forum would welcome a couple guys who wanted to share their videos of fishing adventures. Apparently that's not the case. It seems that the administrator can post fly-tying and fishing videos from the "Big Wigs" and promote their channel but the small "no-namer homegrown boys" can't do the same. We're not a company or an outfitter...we are just fisherman.

This post will probably get deleted as well. So hopefully some of you will get to see this before it does and will have a chance to check out Freestone Outdoors for cool, fun and solid relaxing PA blue line fishing videos. Peace out paflyfish.

Your attitude of entitlement is reason enough to avoid your channel.

I personally interpreted the site guidelines to prohibit promotion for the purpose of financial gain (“commercial”, “advertisement”, “product”, “service”). Maybe one of the mods could clarify if this is intended to be a broader ban on “self-promotion.” That can still be a tough line to draw - is it permissible to post a link to your own instagram post, if relevant to a discussion? If I want to share a clip I recorded of spawning trout, could I upload to YouTube and share that link here?

Without any checks in place, this community could become filled with people spamming their own accounts trying to rack up followers without meaningfully contributing to discussions.

I have watched and enjoyed some of your Freestone Outdoors videos. Good luck with the channel.

I communicated with Freestone outdoors and think we are in a good spot. I'm pretty sure he understands Paflyfish and understand his intentions. All good.

To clarify, the site is a community to share amongst ourselves activities, interests and help with fly fishing in the Pennsylvania Region. It is not a platform for others to use for their own personal gain. This primarily applies to commercial accounts that want to have access to the Paflyfish community as a way to better their own business interests. The place wouldn't be any good if we let anyone and everyone spam away in the threads. Not a good model for any forum.

I watched one video. Eh!!! But I rarely watch actual fishing videos. Just not interested

Ok…this got a little out of hand way too fast. I mean no disrespect to anyone at all…but I have no interest in explaining my actions to strangers in a forum. I just simply wanted to share our fishing trips…simple as that. We have no products to sell, services to offer or any means of financial gain. Freestone Outdoors is just two guys fishing.
…and “attitude of entitlement”…not sure where that came from.
