Howdy, I'd like to spend some time in PA fly fishing trout near bottom release dams and/or spring creeks. Any recommendations? Many thanks in advance. Tony

East Branch of Clarion River has a bottom release dam just north of Johnsonburg, PA. There is a DHALO section at the beginning of the tailwater and open water below that. The DHALO section has stocked fish, mostly rainbows. There are many small splash dams that create habitat and kayakers use the area quite extensively. The main kayak drop off point is the top of the DHALO. Hatches are not extensive but there always seems to be some top water action. Nymphing probably is the preferred approach.

Yo Tony - the Cumberland Valley is replete with famous classic limestoners.

Yough at Confluence is not far from you.

The Yough is roaring right now, at a flow of around 7,000 CFS.
Doubt that it will be fishable anytime soon.

Just like most of the other tailwaters that I've been interested in fishing.
