Been crushing trout from spring creeks in the early morning hours with this pattern in the higher water. Especially browns. I'm talking before the sunrises but you can still see hours. Seems large trout have an affinity for this one this year. The fly has a sleeker profile but the wide tail gets a lot of movement.
Fly is 4" long total
Tail: Gamakatsu wide gape hook size 2
black marabou tail
Charcoal Rabbit strip on top and bottom
black silly legs with red flecks
3 beads with heavy fluorocarbon
Body: Gamakatsu wide gape hook size 1
Black Marabou Tail
Palmered Black Cross Cut Rabbit Strip
Some kind of black ice dub
Charcoal Rabbit strip under body
Head: 20mm fish skull shank
Black Craft fur tail
Black Deer hair Body
Two barred feathers on either side of fly
Red Deer hair under body
Black Charcoal Rabbit Strip over the top
Black silly legs with red flecks
3/32 black fish skull
red eyes
I suggest tying these, putting on your simms "rep your water" hat and toss this thing around on all 10 rods before the rain stops.
Bro approved!
