Several years ago I used to be able to buy honest to goodness black beads at any fly shop. Now they all seem to be more of a gray or pewter color. Yes I have used magic marker, paint, etc. but that's just one more pain in the a## step you shouldn't have to do. Any links or info appreciated!

Matte black (not black nickel) tungsten beads by Montana Fly sold by JStockard:

I got some matte black brass beads at the Fly Fishing show but I don't remember the manufacturer.

If you google Matte Black Beads you'll find some online shops that sell them in quantity. I think Ripp Lipps has them.

Rip lips fishing look it up. Matte black tungsten 100 count for like 12 bucks. Unless for some reason you want brass. They prolly hv both

check out wholesaleflycompany.com. Not high end beads but I caught my biggest trout to date using one of their beads on a wired stonefly nymph
