I've always had the mistaken believe hellgrammites immature and very small during the winter season. From here forward i will not hesitate to fish hellgrammite patterns during the cold season.
Good bass bait for sure. We used to roll rocks in the Conewago to get them. If I'm not mistaken they live in the water for about three years before reaching maturity.
