I have been fishing an Aurora Conquest 9 ft 9/10 wt for salmon for close to 20 years. The rod is near indestructable albeit a bit on the heavy side for salmon. Paired with a good reel, it does a great job controlling the beasts in the sometimes crowded combat fishing conditions one encounters fishing the NY tribs.
As said above the rod is ~20 or so years old. I beleive they were made in Australia. I bought it online (ebay) for $50 back then and have been looking for another in an 8 wt. I dont believe they are made anymore. Blanks seem to be sparingly available.
Anyone use one of these or care to comment on where to purchase?
