I have no clue but it was a bit bigger then a quarter.

Definitely not a stink bug they are brown similar shaped yes but stink bugs are smaller

No clue. Just perused their pics for a beetle with the same shell and thorax shape, and the lines on the shell are kind of distinctive. That narrowed it down to ground beetles.

From there exact match was color based, and none seemed to be dead nuts. This one seemed closest. But photography is funny, red background doesn't help, and individuals vary too.

I could have the wrong species, but I'd bet that it's closely related.
 
I looked at the original pic I took and it does have the red border around the green and then the metallic green back which can only be that beetle. The only thing they say that changes is the rest of the body is either black or blue in color. Wonder how big of fly you'd have to tie to match but it be one heck of an indicator lol
 
looks like a coffee bean beetle to me.
