Alternates to Deer Hair for Serendipity?

Requesting suggestions for alternate material options to Deer Hair when tying
Serendipity and $3 Dip.

Research to this point
shows EP fibers & Widows Web.

Options , input and experience always appreciated!

I’ll second the Zelon suggestion that @rancid waders made. And add a couple pieces of pearl Krystal flash that extend a bit longer than the hook shank and you’ll really be in business.

No research needed. You may tie with any material you like. Just because one guy uses material A doesn’t mean you need to find a substitute. Use material B, C or D or whatever you want. I would use any of a dozen or more of different materials from synthetics to hackle fibers to fur to whatever I had within easy reach. For the flies mentioned, I prefer synthetics and would not even consider using deer hair no matter who tied it with deer hair. That's just me and I would encourage you to do you. one of my favorites is a simple loop of one strand of flash, sometimes antron, sometimes wool, sometimes ice dubbing, It all works.

While I’ve never tried it you might try craft fur.

I dunno, just wrap in a a few fibers of whatever material you like and add a different color thread thorax... ...or dub it... ...or don't... ...or whatever.
