Here's the new report for adult SMB population in the Allegheny:
River Bass
The short version is that SMBs are doing well in the river and the evidence suggests their numbers are stable to improving. Broadly speaking, over the several survey sites, SMBs tend to be more numerous upriver in free flowing sections rather than the impounded downriver areas. In 2013 and 2014, the survey results show that for adult bass the population is generally stable and either above or close to average (10 yr median CPU) across the surveyed sections.
On a cool side note, if you look at the photos of the biologists, it appears to be snowing - tremendous mayfly hatch!
