Had a chance to get out in Tuscarora State Forest this morning for a few hours. I hadn't been to Tuscarora in several years, and thought I'd try some different streams this time. I fished two streams, one class A and one not. The first stream was the unlisted stream, and it fished better by far than the class A.

The cool weather made it feel like fall already, and the fish are really starting to color up. Brought some nice fish to hand, including a couple that were some of the prettiest little brookies I've ever caught. Definitely a beautiful area of the state I can't wait to do some more exploring in.

Very nice.

Looks like spawning colors to me. Very nice. GG

Nice job, healthly looking brookies!

My neck hurts from craning it to the left.

Sorry, thought I fixed that. Showing up rotated correctly on my end.

The first and third stream pic are rotated to me. Sorry to distract your thread, I was just sayin'.

Yeah I don't know what's up with it. They look upright when I open the post. I guess just turn your computer or lay down and look at them.

Nice pictures!

The experience you wrote about matches mine of late.

I also spent some time in Tuscarora state forest the other day and caught several beautiful little brookies myself....they weren't colored as brightly as these, however. I am going to do the same again soon and I will post some pictures of what I come up with.

Beautiful Brookies! It's been too long for me, but there are many miles of great streams to explore in that region.

They are some beautiful fish. " Gems for sure" :-D

I was also up that way over the past week. When I parked and saw another vehicle in the area I thought I'd have to find another stream. Luckily there was hiking gear on the seat.

That last pic of the vista looks familiar haha.

lol. I first saw these pics last night on my phone. My wife wondered why I kept spinning it. Just as I got the orientation right, the dang thing would flip on me, lol.

Anyway, thanks for the pics and story. Been too long since I got out. Life is really in the way of my fishing addiction. But pics like this allow me to vicariously live through others!

Tuscarora State Forest has some wonderful brook trout. Here are a few I caught earlier this summer.

Beautiful fish and it's nice to see so many appreciate such a beautiful area that I consider my neck of the woods or stomping grounds. I believe I may have seen one you walking down the road toward the car and parking area last sunday.
Many times unlisted streams fish better than the listed. Some of the best fishing of the year for me is in the unlisted streams. Again those are beutiful. Keep fishing

Congratulations, you get the prize for being the first to proclaim, "they are coloring up."
Sounds like a great day in the woods. Beautiful fish.
