5 ways to become a better fly tyer

Last winter I was really into the Tim Flagler videos. Kelly Galloup videos are fun and good stuff too.
 
My first fly I ever tied was just bucktail on a hook with a conehead. So simple and those basic streamers catch so many fish. I love tying and there are a few patterns that I use so often that I seem to have a need to almost always tie those patterns.

^This is the answer. Take your time and be deliberate about the thread wraps you are placing. Be cognizant of how the material behaves, and how your thread placement interacts with that. Clean, durable, and professional looking ties start at the first thread wrap.
 
when i learned less is more and don't crowd the head it changed the game.
