grannom caddis

this is the first season that i got to fish the grannom hatch and do not have anything that worked so far. do you guys have a good dry fly pattern that works and could share a pic?

also, are the grannoms just an early caddis hatch? i see caddis hatching all the time through out the year...what is special about the grannom? what are they called after the grannom and before the fall october caddis?

Feeding: scraper/collector
Likes fast to moderate current
Locally size 14, color brownish/black
When laying eggs it's surface & subsurface
A wet or a diving pattern wouldn't be bad to have along with a dry

Put a bit of green on the butt for a grannom egg layer..I like the delta wing pattern above...

one could also use a cdc and elk http://www.danica.com/flytier/hweilenmann/cdcelk.htm this is a real killer

dark brown body, black hackle and natural elk for the dry.

Partridge and peacock wet.

thanks for the info guys. now i guess i have to wait for next year.
maybe this weekend they still be around. yesterday was pretty slow, maybe they are done for this year?

They're still on Oil Creek and Spring from reports I've read.

Talked to the guys at ffp they're saying grannoms are done or very close. Sulphurs are making a showing, along with crane flies. With tan caddies to follow.

My best flies are as follows in order:

CDC Black or Brown size 14 with a trailing shuck
Elk Wing Black or Brown no hackle #12 and #14
Peeking Caddis #12 with wiggle dub body and green head

X caddis.... I use tan CDC for the shuck, tan or olive UV dubbin, and I use caribou instead of elk for the wing. Deadly
