Can someone give good advice or post some pics of some common flies. We catch a fair share of them on spinning rods in the Yough and would love to try them on a fly.
Here's an easy looking one and I'm sure you could beef it up with colors, eyes, a throat, etc. As long as it looks alive and moves like a baitfish, I don't think they care too much. Only place I've caught em on the Yough is around the Castleman-Laurel-Yough Confluence.
This franken-fly has done well for me for pike and tiger muskie. Ugly as hell though.
Has a real nice action in the water, and the sparkle of the flashabou & grizzly tail does quite well.
And this one has picked up a pike. Please excuse the crappy deer-hair job. This pic was my first attempt.
The only thing I would change is to change the stinger hook material to a wire and to not use beads.
