Perkiomen Valley T.U. has a project scheduled to begin on October 9. It's mostly structure work, but we will be removing some invasive plants and trees. If you'd like to find out more send me a PM.
The location is on rt. 29 at the American Legion in East Greenville PA. About 1 mile from the borough, just west of Water Street. The trees plantings will be the following week.
The site is an old dam site, which PVTU arranged to have removed by American Rivers. It's filled with sediment and pretty flat water. The in stream work includes some rip rap, random boulder placement and deflectors. Not ideal, but it's a heavily impacted section of water.
Hosensack creek empties into the Perky just above the project water and hold excellent numbers of wild browns, Perkiomen Creek also holds wild browns. The intent of the project is to improve trout holding lies. We'll be planting live stakes and trees in the early spring.
