Upper Delaware: extremely low water in both branches!

I'm surprised nobody has posted on this, especially with the effect on spawning success and the benthic layer that will dry/freeze.

NYC decided to bail on fixing the aqueduct system due to the drought (6.73" below normal rainfall since 9/1). However, there are 835 billion gallons still in the reservoirs (59.5% capacity) Why not continue with the repairs? NCY should use less water in winter than in summer.

Set your timescale out a bit longer on the USGS website and you’ll see that release levels are reduced every November to around 200-300 cfs on both branches. The way that river system is configured, none of the regular spawning beds should be dewatered. In fact, what was probably worse for spawning was 1000-1600 cfs of dirty water getting blasted out of the gates for the last month or so
