I wonder what the impact of the massive commercial harvest of pogies has on the Striped Bass population. The menhaden is a valuable food source for Stripers.

The Omega fleet has weaseled their way into like 3/4’s of the allocation, all coming from Virginia waters. Omega fishes heavily in the bay.

It’s worth noting that one of the primary uses of commercially harvested menhaden is fish food for aquaculture.

Yea the state growing 6 million trout annually in PA takes a lot of pellets.
