Is anyone still fishing?!?!?!?

Where is the West Branch Susquehanna 18 feet deep?

Most of it seems pretty shallowI
I fish in the Lock Haven to Muncy area. There are several areas that deep. Where Loyalsock Creek dumps in hits 26 feet deep. A lot of the area above the dam here in Williamsport is around 20' too.

Are there still enormous numbers of carp below the Williamsport dam? Years ago (1990s?) a buddy and I were fishing from a boat there and saw amazing numbers of carp. Guys in another boat were snagging them.

I haven't fished for trout for about 3 months due to the water conditions.
I have done a few floats on the Delaware for bass but even that water level is about 2 feet lower than normal.

I fished only 4 times in October. Fish were caught, but I am likely switching to surf fishing a bit earlier this year. As noted above, fishing in water this low is not all that fun sometimes.

A few shots from last Tuesday on a certain Central PA destination creek whose gauge shows better than the actual conditions on the ground, for sure.

If I'm not mistaken, one of my favorite stretches.

I do not see nearly the numbers of carp as there used to be. I wouldn't even want to really target them too much in the rive most places. I know a few spots but nothing like it used to be!

went to a section of my local beat last weekend, creek looked health, clear and flowing nicely. Till I noticed where i was walking. On the bedrock walls I could see the normal water line, creek was 2ft below that. Which worked out for me as i nearly went swimming trying to cross at a choke point.

Fished the Little J on Thursday. I was able to land 4 all on zebra midges. Water was crystal clear. Caught all of the trout in riffles where the water was tumbling over large stone formations. I did not see any redds.

Holy cow, some of the gauges are the lowest I've ever seen. We're quickly running out of places to wet a line. Toss in fall spawning and it's shaping up to be a quiet fall on the water.

Here's a story on how bad things are in Erie:

Lakes in the fall are underrated. Rather fish a stocked lake than rake leaves.
Dear Tom,

I had hoped to do that today, but 20 mph wind changed my wind. I was standing on the riverbank at Fort Hunter today taking pictures instead. At 11:00 AM with that wind and 49 degrees it wasn't pleasant.

But it was a great day for photography!

Regards,

Tim Murphy 🙂

Nothing like kicking into the wind in a tube.🥵

I actually thought about that, but had I done it I would have needed a drift sock and called the wife to pick me up on the other side of the lake and shuttle me back to the put-in. 😉

No water fishing isn't my style.
lol i like that. i was out last sat morning. just terrible water levels. i was seeing rocks i have never seen before. ill take advantage of this time for my to do list around my house and keep praying for rain. hoping the winter will be better fishing. one of my favorite times to fish because i normally have the river to myself and my feet never gets cold

as a teenager in high school, we modified a wide john boat for bow fishing. We were out on the river in this area 3 nights a week minimum in the summer. By the 2nd summer, we had really put a hurting on the carp. There were quite a few people bow fishing then, dont see it as much now.
