Chaz, is that the first time that your first fish of the year was a warm water species, let along a bass?

Glad you got out.

Yep. I'm going for brookies soon.

Good luck. I never do well on brookies this time of year (small freestone cricks).

I'll be after the panfish when the ice is out. Been craving a fish fry. Likely won't be out for trout again until after opening day.

I'm thinking limestone brookies. Maybe even today.

Yea, I figured you were talking limestone, but that would be a long drive for me which is why I wait.

We should do an ice out meet up.

Do you have a boat?;-)

not where I usually fish, but the snow doesnt look too bad in some altoona-state college-harrisburg triangle

Congratulations Chaz 🙂

Nice bass!

I get lotsa big bass through the ice using small wild brookies for bait. Yuh have to use wild brookies... stockies don't work well, the bass don't like the taste.
😎

Congrats, nice fish.

Hope to be able and make a similar post before May 10th. LOL.

Nice work and I was also expected to see a gemmie under a magnifying glass. Lmao

Actually except for the breeze it wasn't cold at all, or you'd have seen me in bright orange coveralls. Temp was mid 40's all day and as you can see bright and sunny. This was just north of Scranton.

The second fish of the year, also caught Monday.
