Chironomid Gear Set up.

Can anyone who fishes Chironomidae with regular success clue me into your rod / reel / line setup?

Any good mid flex graphite or fiberglass rod, 8' 6" - 10' #3 or #4 6X & 7X tippets. 12' - 15' leader.

Like everything else I fish chironomids with a 9ft 5wt. Usually from a float tube. 6 inch Lead core section between leader and line.

There are lots of detailed discussions on this subject on the Pacific Northwest Fly Fishing forum (https://pnwflyfishing.com/forum/index.php?_pwa=1) as well as the Washington Fly Fishing Forum (https://www.washingtonflyfishing.com/) as those guys in Washington, Oregon, British Columbia, Etc. have a lot of lakes and do a lot of fly fishing on them.
